The creator of the Hershey bar and the Hershey company was a man named Milton Snavely Hershey. Milton Hershey was born on Sept. 13, 1857, in PA. In 1900 Hershey began concentrating on perfecting a formula for chocolate bars. In 1903 he began building at the site of what became Hershey, PA., a factory that became the world’s largest chocolate manufacturing plant. Based on the popularity of its milk chocolate bars, his new company
grew rapidly despite Hershey’s refusal to advertise its products. The Hershey company became a huge success and began to make even more items beside the Hershey chocolate bar such as Almond Joy, York Peppermint Patties, Kit Kats, Reese's Peanut Butter Cups, and Whoppers. Sadly, Milton Hershey died Oct. 13, 1945, Hershey, PA.
